PCI 8511 and LV2009 FDS

I have to collect position information from a hydraulic cylinder which has a CAN bus interface. I am new to this and trying to get some information from the net. In the meanwhile I have planned to use the PCI 8511 for the hardware part.

I am using LV2009 FDS and would like to get some tips on the interface aspect. I still don't have the card into my PC and if I try to install the DAQMx drivers after installing the card would there be any relevant drivers that will get loaded ??

I have located the CANopen LV Library and that seems to be the bundle  that I was looking for to work with PCI8511. However it also says

"The NI CANopen LabVIEW Library is a set of VIs you can use to create CANopen master applications that comply with the CiA DS-301 standard."

Now I have two components that have DS-408 and DS-306 profiles. What does this mean ? Will I be able to use the library for my requirement ?
