We are building a test environment for an instrument using two PCI-DIO-32HS
cards from National Instruments. There are performance problems of the
pattern generation mode.
Using one 500 Mhz PC computer and an external 10Mhz function generator
we were able to get following results:
Pattern Generation Mode (16 bits) - about 3Ms/s
Handshaked Burst Mode (16 Bits) - at least 10Ms/s (Function generator limit)
The problem is the Pattern Generation mode, we need to have synchronous mode
without handshake that could achieve 10Ms/s. How is it possible that
the Handshaked Burst Mode is faster than the Pattern Generation mode ?
Are there any possibilities to this problem ?
