As long as you have the compatible Device drivers installed on your Windows XP PC, your card will work fine

Hello Hunley.

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

Your PCI-MIO-16E-4 is compatible with Windows XP so devchander is correct when he says that it will work as long as you have the correct drivers.  This card is compatible with both the DAQmx and Traditional DAQ drivers.  A great resource for finding this out is:

Data Acquisition Installation/Configuration Troubleshooter.

If you locate your PCI-MIO-16-4 card, which is also known as a 6040E card, and look at the first column (which corresponds to Windows XP), that cell says "8.3mx 7.4.1T."  This means that the card is compatible with DAQmx driver versions up to 8.3 and Traditional DAQ driver versions up to 7.4.1.  If you click on these version numbers, which appear in blue, you will be taken to the webpage where you can download that particular driver.

Have a great day and if you have any further questions on this issue, let us know!

Hi,

I have a PCI-MIO-16E-4, NI-DAQ 9.2.2 and I am using Windows Vista trying to install a BNC-2120 but its not working.

When Windows get started, it findes a new hardware and tries to install but after some time, it can't find a driver for it.

I've installed Everest in my PC and there I can see that "National Instruments PCI-GPIB Controller Interface Board" is ok but Windows is still unable to find BNC-2120.

What could probably be the solution for it?

Thanks

Hi Priscilla,

The reason why you cannot find it in the Measurement and Automation Explorer is because the BNC 2120 is just a terminal block, so it does not use any drivers. The BNC should be connected to a DAQ card that will do the measurements. This DAQ card should definitley have drivers installed in order to operate.
