Questions about PCI-6221

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am trying  to install PCI-6221 board in my PC (Windows XP machine).
I have a few questions.

Since it took me for more than several months, I don't remember whether installation CD was included with the product.
Even if it was, I might have lost it somewhere.

I tried to search for such installation driver/software online, but was not able to find it on the company's homepage.
The only driver/software I've found was, "".
However, even after installing it, the PC does not seem to recognize the PCI board.

I would appreciate your advice.

Thank you very much.

You don't mention the driver you actually installed. Finding the latest just requires you to click on 'Support' at the top of the page and then click on DAQmx. Select the 9.2.1 driver.

Thank you, Dennis. I am sorry for not having provided proper information. As a matter of fact, I'd already downloaded the version, "9.2.1mx".

Now, since I posted my previous question, I've tried some other method.  I opened up DAQ, and by right-clicking on the "devices and interfaces", I selected "create new".  In there, they had "NI PCI-6221".  So, I followed the wizard instruction and set it up.

Now, I have a new question.

In the "Measurement & Automation Explorer" window, I now see "NI PCI-6221 "Dev1"", but on the "attribute" window, all the "serial number", "socket number", and "bus number" are set to "0 x 0".  It does not even show "memory range" or "IRQ level", which I've read about elsewhere (in some other book or somewhere).  I feel something may still be missing.

When I self-test it, it returns "succsessful" message, but when I connect the board physically to an input platform like CB-68LP, and try to read the input from "test panel", it does not seem to read the input.

I would appreciate your further advice to make the board function properly.

Thank you very much.

You should not have to go through all of the 'Create New' stuff if your board is recognized. It seems what you actually created was a simulated board. Delete this device in MAX. Power down the pc. Remove the DAQ board. Boot up. Check that there is nothing listed in MAX. Power down the pc. Install the board. Boot up. Windows and MAX should detect your board. If it does not, perhaps the board or pci slot is dead. I would then try a different pc.
