SCC-FV01 sensor compatability

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a SCC-FV01 frequency input module in a SCC-68.  I am needing to know if a Banner mini-beam SM312F sensor will work with this module.

I have received conflicting info on this, and need to know for sure before wasting anymore time.

Thanks.

Added the spec sheet for the Banner sensor.

Hi  ATPL,

After reading the spec sheet it is not clear to me exactly what type of signal the sensor is outputting. Is it current or voltage or frequency? If it is frequency 0-100Hz, then you should be able to use the SCC-FV01.

The output configuration is Bipolar: One current sourcing (PNP) and one current sinking (NPN) open-collector transistor.

This is from the spec sheet.  Not being a EE, I am not sure if this output is compatable with the module we have.

I don't believe those signals are compatible with the SCC-FV01. Perhaps a digital module would be better suited for this application. Please feel free to contact your NI sales representative so they can assist you in choosing the best module.

I did have a NI representative here today that helped us confirm this.

Thanks.
