Simultaneous acquisition, output and binary write file query

Hi Rich

Sorry about the delay in replying, but  I've been away for a few days. 🙂

Yes thanks very much and I'll give you an update tomorrow as soon as I've had a chance to sort a few things out that I have to finish first.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Rich

I'm afraid that I've only just had a chance to have a look at this and very many thanks indeed for that...but I'm afraid that my question was more related to how to get such information out of a counter output in order to drive the stepper motor with the appropriately spaced pulses. I can only seem to make it provide continuous/finite pulse trains of specific frequencies.

In order to provide the pulses that will drive it sinusoidally (as with the output from your program), can I start a counter pulse train with 1 pulse at every time step on demand as and when required, or will this starting and stopping take too much time? (Bearing in mind that I am sampling at 1500Hz, writing the data to file and wanting to provide at most a sinusoid of frequency 1.5Hz and 90 degree amplitude (90 degrees = 50 steps) ) I have also thought about using this information to set a digital port from high to low, but I am afraid that this also might take too much time within my program. Or is there another way to do it that I have missed? Smiley Happy

Many Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

I hope you are well.  Sorry for the delay in responding to your message.  I have been looking into your problem and I was wondering if it would be possible if you just provide a bit more information regarding your message below.

"...can I start a counter pulse train with 1 pulse at every time step on demand as and when required, or will this starting and stopping take too much time?.."

I was wondering if you could tell me how you wanted to control the pulse train.  Did you want varying frequency, single pulse or another custom option.  I was also wondering if you could tell me what is going to determine how this control is required.

Thank you very much for your help and I hope you have a good weekend.

Kind regards,
