Did you mean:

Single board Rio extended temperature

I was reading the NI web page related to the signle board Rio

http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/it/nid/205865

and I've found the following sentence

-20 to 55 °C operating temperature range (extended temperature range certification available)

What does it mean "extended temperature range certification available"?

I'm quite interested to use the sbRio in a range -20 up to 70°C so I'm quite curious to discover the meaning of this sentence.

My NI representative actually has no idea of the meanining of this sentence.

Thank you for your help

Best regards

Marco

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the post and I hope your well.

I think I know the understanding, but obviously as I work for NI, I need to confirm this with R&D - as you know, the single board Rio is a new product.

With the PXI we offer extended temperature range as an option when you buy, where a customer would pay to get warranty for operating in this extended range.

I will contact the team and let you know in due course.

Kind Regards,

Kind Regards

Hi Marco,

Please forget about the last message, I have better news.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the post and I hope your well.

I woudl recommend contacting your local Field Sales Engineer for a visit - and Im sorry to hear that the person you spoke to in the sales team didn't know. Are you in the UK?If so please phone the UK office on 01635 523545 and ask to speak to James Hilman in the Applications Engineer department and we can talk some more.

Regarding that line, please look at this link:  Under Prototype,

"

NI also offers several services for the prototyping stage of development. You can take advantage of these for designs that are expected to perform in environments outside the typical operating conditions of the devices. For example, the new NI Single-Board RIO devices are rated for performance from -20 to 55 °C. With extended temperature design verification, NI can test the device up to 80 °C and specify performance through this expanded range.

"

I hope this helps, and please let me know what else I can do for you.

Kind Regards,

Kind Regards

Ciao Marco,

Grazie e a presto!
