Dear ALL
I have been searching for a DAQ device to measure sound, vibration and temperature. Will USB-4431 or USB-4432 serve the purpose? or do I need to get a general-purpose C Series Universal Analog Input Module?
Thank you
SZ

If you want to measure more than one 'dynamic' (sound/vib) channel, stay away from multiplexed inputs. (Or generally try to avoid them unless 1SPS is fine 😉 )
Type of DAQ strongly depends on type of sensor signals ... or
Type of sensors/conditioning depends type of DAQ ...
The 443x are fine for vib and sound (you can get nice IEPE mics) and 0-10V is a classical industrial (temperature) sensor conditioner range that match the 443x input range.
If you measure vibration at lower frequencies, take a look at the AC high pass specs of the 4431 and 4432, they differ!

Henrik_Volkers makes some good points. As for USB-443x vs C series modules, the NI-9234 is very comparable, spec sheets linked below. Either will most likely work for measuring sound and vibration and temperature. The main consideration is if you will need other modules in the future. Having a cDAQ chassis will allow for your system to be more modular and potential expansion with other modules.
