USB-6008 input noise measuring resistance

I am trying to detect contact closure measuring resistance on one of the USB-6008 analog inputs. It seems that there is significant noise even with the input shunted.

The settings are - Max input signal 1 kOhm, rate - 1kHz, samples to read - 1 k.

Is there a way to minimize the noise?

Hi,

Can you tell me how are you measuering this i.e. your signal connection and what mode your task is in i.e. RSE or differential. Also what is the range of the measured signal; the accuracy @ max voltage range is about 138mV.

Thanks lab_boy my settings were at RSE but I was measuring 5 K with 1 K range so I was getting a lot of noise.
