USB 6009 locking up after 2 weeks

We are now field testing our USB 6009 software/hardware.

After about two weeks of SOLID around the clock testing, we are noticing a repeated and consistant lock up of the 6009 device after said period.  We are performing multiple triggered start/stops and 1 analog out.

I read here several months ago, there was an issue with the NI driver where the device would lock up and not respond after being on for several weeks.

I did a search but can't find it.  Can someone point me to it?  Or perhaps tell me if there is a fix?

Thanks

Don

Don,

The similar issues that I have seen reported in the past have been related to the computer going into power-save mode (standby or hibernation), and this causes a loss in communication with the device.  Also, there have been some issues reported with USB DAQ devices and certain PCs (specifically HP computers).  Here is a thread that talks about a similar situation (I'm not sure if this is what you were referring to...):

Does this seem to apply to you?  Have you tried it on several different computers, or has all of your testing happened on the same computer?

We may have possibly isolated the problem.

Does the USB drivers occasionally try to access the web through a special port?  Possibly to perform an update check?

We have reports of the USB6009 locking up roughly the same time the virus scan firewall blocks internet port acccess.

To make sure it's not a USB power issue we have turned off power saving features on the USB port in the control panel.

Hello Don,

Our driver does not connect to the internet; however, firewalls often block more than just the internet.  It is possible that your firewall is blocking USB devices.  Alternatively, it could be that it is simply using too many resources, and your program is not able to keep up the rate of acquisition.  Have you tried disabling your firewall or adding exemptions for NI software?
