USB-6215 in Windows Vista? Nidevmon service fails to start...

Hi,

I have been trying to install a USB-6215 in Windows Vista Ultimate without success.

As a summary:

I have installed first LabVIEW 8.2.1 and NI-DAQmx 8.5. No other previous NI software is installed in the computer. After rebooting I plugged the USB board but the "USB-621x loader" failed to initialize. I tried to start the service nidevmon manually, but it fails to start.
I have also tried to "repair" all the NI software installed in the computer.

There is no antivirus software installed in the equipment. The firewall is turned off. I have tried also turning off the Windows Defender that comes with Windows Vista. When I log into the computer, I have administrator privileges.

I think that this service "NI device Monitor" is the one needed to install the National Instruments boards into the computer, isn't it? Does it mean that I will not be able to install any other card in the computer with Windows Vista? From the web page of NI, the USB-6215 was listed as a compatible device with Windows Vista, with the NI-DAQmx 8.5, so I don't know what else to try...

Any suggestions will be very welcome!

I have a customer that is also interested in this same issue:

"installed the runtime engine but with no joy. When I insert the

disc for the NI software and drivers that comes with the DaQpad USB-6215 the

message I get is that NI does not support Windows 64 and the installation

process just stops."

As the original post is > 2 years, is there a related link that recommends a solution?
