I have just installed LabVIEW 2011 and the latest device drivers (DAQmx 9.5.3, MAX 5.0, etc) from the accompanying DVD but now my USB-6501 and USB-6508 are no longer found. Both devices are correctly found by Windows (XP SP3) and appear without problems in the Device Manager. I have repaired DAQmx and MAX and then reinstalled all device drivers but still the same problem. Are these devices no longer supported, or is there a problem somewhere?
Under "Devices and Interfaces" there is no longer a DAQmx Devices entry, but a previous NI cDAQ-9174 entry still appears, even though I don't have the hardware connected.

I have noticed that the NI Device Loader service is not running, but is set to automatic, and it will not start when I try to start it manually from the Services window.
Having said that I just turned off my ZoneAlarm firewall and it started, and now MAX correctly shows the device.

I am having the same issue but do not have Zone alarm. Any suggestions?

I am using Measurement & Automation Explorer Version 5.3.2f0 on a windows XP operating system.
If I unplug and plug back in the USB cable Max begins to search for a new device but does not show anything.
I believe It was all working prior to loading the latest Labview 2012 update a couple of weeks ago.

Ok, I have uninstalled and re-installed Labview 2012 and NI Max.. The device is now found and listed in NI Max but now comes up with an error message and will not pass self test or communicate in NI Max or Labview 2012. I need to get this running for a project that was working. It really shouldn't be this difficult.
