Is the USB-9213 measurement Sensitivity spec a peak to peak or rms value ?

Hello tc928,
The measurement sensitivity for the NI USB-9213 represents the smallest change in temperature (°C) that this sensor can detect. This depends not on the way the thermocouple gives the value but rather on the temperature itself. Does this solve your question? If not can you be more specific?

Hi Jose,
Thanks for the feedback.
According to the 9213 sensitivity spec, the sensitivity is realted to noise (see note below). I was assuming that the sensitivty is trying to indicate the noise level or noise floor of the measurement circuit, that is why I asked if it is a rms or p-p value.
Can you explain how sensitivity and noise are related. What I am trying to know is what is the p-p noise level of the 9213 if the TC input is shorted right at the input (no TC sensor).
Measurement sensitivity represents the smallest change in temperature that a sensor can detect. It is a function of noise. The
values assume the full measurement range of the standard thermocouple sensor according to ASTM E230-87.

Hello tc928,
The noise and the sensitivity are directly related since if there is a change in voltage due to the noise and represents a value higher than the voltage associated to the sensitivity temperature value then the device will show a temperature change on the data.
