USB DAQ devices do not show up in MAX

Dave,

Can you obtain a MAX Technical Report? To do this, open MAX and go to File->Create Report..., then select Technical Support for the report type. Once you get that, please attach it here so I can take a look at it, thanks!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for attaching the report. A few entries in here look strange, so we're investigating into that right now. For the system used to generate that report, can I assume that you had 1 USB-6009 plugged in which shows up in Device Manager but not in MAX? You also mentioned you have one working system, where your USB-DAQ devices do show up properly. Can you also provide me with a technical report from that system, with a USB-6009 plugged in that does show up in MAX?

Hello Dave,

We have been investigating your issue and thus far determined which software components have interacted correctly with your hardware. However, we are still looking into additional areas of the DAQmx driver for possible reasons as to why some of the device information was not populated e.g. the USB 6009 Serial Number. Also, post an update regarding the status of this issue, thanks.

Best regards,

I got the same problem. I have an HP 8440p with Windows 7. The USB-6009 shows up correctly  in the device manager but is not recognized in MAX neither in Labview as an physical channel. I am trying to uninstall MAX to see if it helps. I have tested the USB-6009 at a different Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 as well. It works there!

Any news on the issue ?

Best regards Marius

There has been a NI-DAQmx patch released since the original post (Several actually)

Have you tried updating to the latest version?

Version 9.2.2 release notes says:

"Fix for the USB Interface Device issue discussed in KB 5DF9GJZL: Why Do Certain USB Interface Devices Prevent NI Devices from Appearing in MAX?"

Thanks frozen! It works now.

The 'NI update service'' pops up occasionally but it does not work. It just hangs forever. Maybe I would have received the patch automatically if it worked.

Best regards

Marius
