USB Printer driver interfering with USB-6008?

Hi all,

We have a strange problem with USB-6008 when used in a computer (XP) with HP/Epson inkjet printers. The USB-6008 stops working without giving any error message or warning. Sometimes the device goes missing from the MAX device list also.

The problem gets solved when we remove the printer driver.

Does the 6008 show up in the Control Panel -> Device Manager on the computer?

It is possible that when the printer driver is loaded the computer thinks the 6008 is a printer and associates the wrong driver for the 6008 and uses the printer driver instead of the DAQ driver. In this case, you would use the Device Manager to manually associate the right driver with the 6008. 

In case the above is not the cause I have these questions:

What version of the NI DAQ driver are you using?

What is the specific printer driver causing the error?

Is the printer connected by USB and is it plugged in when you have this problem?
