USB connection on USB-6259 DAQ

Can anyone tell me if the USB-6259 DAQ uses the 5V that is available on the USB cable that goes to the computer? We have a noise issue, and we're wondering if it could be related to a dirty 5V supply over the USB cable.

Based on the images, since there is only USB cable and no external power adapter, the DAQ uses the same 5V provided by your computer.

Thanks for your reply. We ARE using the 12VDC power AC/DC converter that came with the DAQ. In that case, is the 5V on the USB line used for anything in the DAQ?
