USB to PCMCIA Reader for NI 60xx Card

Does anyone have any experience with USB to PCMCIA Readers for NI PCMCIA Data Acquisition Cards?

Specifically, I am using a 6062E.   Our newer company laptops do not have a PCMCIA slot.  For now, I must continue using the 6062E hardware... so, I am looking for recommendations from anyone in the user community.

Thanks and Regards, Mike.

our newer Laptop PCs do not have PCMCIA slots.   I am looking for a USB to a PCMCIA device that would support NI 6062E data acquisition card.

There are a number of USB to PCMCIA devices out there.   example:   OMNIDrive Pro. @ $450.

I am hoping that someone may have a specific recommendation, that is known to work with NI 60xx cards.

I received standard boilerplate reply from NI applications engineering stating:   "third-party USB-to-PCMCIA converters are not supported by National Instruments.  this is due to the extensize testing resources that would be required to obtain, test, and verify appropriate behavior of our hardware, drivers, and software products..."   etc...

It is true that National Instruments does not officially support such converters.  Depending on what kind of laptop you have, you might be able to find an expresscard converter?

Also, some of our latest USB DAQ cards could give you some similar functionality at a relatively low price:

Hi,

I have a similar problem with the PCMCIA DAQ card 6024E.

How did you solve the problem ?

Did you try the OMNIDrive Pro ?

Thanks

Hi Zubedats,

This post is a few years old so I would recommend creating a new post with more details about your specific issue so that it can gain more visibility and hopefully get your questions answered.
