Unable to find network NI-DAQmx device

Hi, I'm unable to find my WLS-9163 device using MAX. I followed the instruction on the getting started manual. Connecting my WLS-9163 directly to my conputer using an ethernet cable, open MAX, find network NI-DAQmx device but am unable to find the device. I tried using the hostname and IP address but to no avail either. Any help?

Did you use an Ethernet crossover cable for the direct connection to the PC?

I'm using a standard category 5 ethernet cable, one that's normally used to connect directly to the router for LAN.

For a direct connection to the PC, you need to use a crossover cable.

I have a similar problem,

I'm using a crossover cable to connect directly the pc and the ni enet 9163, I've assigned the ip 192.168.0.1 to the ethernet card.

Using MAX I cannot find the device, if I go in devices and interfaces I don't have the option "network devices": it's completely missing.

Thanks for your help

9163 is supported by DAQmx 8.8, http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1085/lang/en, or later.
