Under Vista32 USB-6008 not detected by MAX under Vista32 bit

I installed NI-DAQmx Ver8.6 and Signal Express LE on my Vista laptop. My USB-6008 DAQ device installs correctly under the windows device manager, but it is not detected by MAX or Signal Express.

I have tested the installation on another laptop running XP Professional, everything works correctly.

Note;  After plugging in to USB port on my Vista machine, I get a prompt to move the device to a USB 2.0 port for better performance. Odd thing is that the port I am using is a 2.0 port.

Hey Bullitt54,

Windows Vista is compatible with DAQmx version 8.5 and up and any version of Signal Express, so you should be fine as far as versions go. Did you previously try and install an older version of DAQmx on your laptop and did you have any trouble doing this? This could cause issues and if so there are some steps we can take.

Here are some other suggestions:

1) Check the firmware that is loaded on the device. We want to make sure we have the DAQmx firmware.

Using a USB-6008 / 6009 / 6501 in MAX, and Switching Firmware Between NI-DAQmx and NI-DAQmx Base

2) Try the device in a different USB port.

3) Repair your DAQmx installation.
