Use BNC 2110 to trigger other hardware

Hi all,

I have a BNC 2110 that is picking up acoustic signals and triggers when a signal has a certain amplitude, I also have a camera i would like to trigger in sync with the BNC 2110 so I can see the event that caused this high amplitude. I notice there is a section on the board titled "Trigger / Counter", I have read some documentation on it and I am under the impression that whenever the BNC 2110 reaches its trigger point it immidiately sends a signal through this port, the documentation was very vague however I want this confirmed before I go ahead and buy an appropriate camera. Also how large is the trigger signal??

The BNC-2110 is a connector block that is used to route signals from your data acquisition (DAQ) card to your camera.  Any trigger capability will depend on your DAQ card.  Can you clarify how large is the trigger signal?  Are you using any vision hardware or software to accomplish this?

Hi

Thank you for the quick response, I am using a NI PCI 6133 card, the trigger level for the audio (input) is 0.5-1 volt, and the trigger level for the camera (output so that the camera will activate as soon as the audio triggers) I don't know yet since I haven't purchased the camera, however I have several amplifiers the trigger out shouldn't be a problem

Thanks

The 6133 (and most of our DAQ devices) uses TTL logic levels for the digital lines (including triggers), so this will be around 0 Volts low and 5 Volts High.
