Using DAQPad-6020e with labview 2018

firstly, i have never used LabVIEW before, but for my college senior design project (EENG) i need to construct a test jig with a bunch of strain gauges. For this I acquired three 6020e DAQPads that I hope to use.

I'm using LabVIEW 2018, on a windows 10 pc. I cant seem to get them to be detected, as i don't think DAQmx supports these "vintage" units, and i assume that LabVIEW does not either, without some special changes . Looking around, i believe i need the NI-DAQ 7.4.4 drivers. however, when i tried to install them, they are not able to be installed due to an incompatible OS, not even when i tried to trick them using windows compatibility mode.

my question is whether or not I could get these to work in my current setup (and how would i be able to accomplish this), which would be ideal, or do i need to find an old xp laptop and load all the software onto that. I would much prefer to get it working using my current setup, and as mentioned i have little experience in LabVIEW so any recommendations are appreciated. thanks.

At first glance, I don't think this vintage DAQ is going to work with any fairly latest OS/HW.

I will try to find some more information on the latest SW/HW that this will work with, but definitely not with Win10 or any latest LabVIEW or DAQmx drivers (literally 0% confidence).

Interestingly DAQmx 19.0 still supports some DAQPad devices, worth a try to install DAQmx 18.0 or higher

On the other hand, looks like 6020 was not one of the devices transitioned to mx drivers, I would be less hopeful that DAQmx even supports it.

thanks. looking at this link here, https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019OrQSAU&l=en-US, it seems that the older NI-DAQ software version 7.5 would probably work, but the last version of NI-DAQ that supported the DAQPad 6020e was 7.4.4, so it looks like I'm going to have to do this in XP, perhaps ill try running it in a virtual machine.

ill try using the NI-Daq software 7.5, and see if it recognizes it, but i'm not hopeful.
