Using USB-6251 DAQ as a Power Supply

I'm trying to figure out how to use the DAQ as a DC power supply. I tried using Signal Express to create an Analog Output, but it won't allow the Min./Max. values to be the same.

Any ideas?

Min/Max values are used to set up the expected range of output voltages.  If you ever want to be able to turn the output voltage off ( 0V ), I suggest that you set the MIn to 0 Volts.

Just remember that the 6251 is not going to be able to source a lot of current.  About 5mA max acording to data sheet.

Please realize that the DAQ card analog ouput current is limited to +/-5mA, you can't power too many devices with that.

Here's the specs:

Edit: Centerbolt, I belatedly saw you already mentioned this fact

Analog Kid,

Don't worry about it.  It was important enough to be mentioned twice.  Once for each ear.  Smiley Very Happy
