Voltage Offset USB-4431, how to eleminate

Solved!
Go to solution

I recently bought a USB-4431 for it's precision. The issue that apparently the IEPE is turned ON by default. Hence It anhile any signal that I'm trying to measure. The manuel gives plenty of instructions of how to turn OFF or change the current for the IEPE but only when using it in an accelaration measurment or other IEPE devices. Those option aren't there when the device is set as a simple Voltmeter, but still the current offset is still there. Is there a way to turn it Off while being in simple voltmeter mode?

The manual does stipulate that it can be turned off, but the instructions only relates to the modes that I don't need.

Thank You very much.

Hi Benjamin,

I have include a link to a KnowledgeBase that describes how to enable IEPE excitation on a device. However, you can follow these directions to setup the property node and then you can set the input of 'AI.Excit.Src' to 'None' and 'AI.Excit.Val' to '0'. This should disable the IEPE excitation on the device.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer, I tried a bunch of things and came to realize that the issue is not the EIPE, there is a currant offset of 8uA on the device that I can't figure out how to eleminate. I'm starting to wonder if I simply was shipped a defective device. I also though that it might be a calibration issue, but I don't see any calibrations of the input current.
