I've been trying to use NI 9163 carrier with NI 9215 module. The module works perfectly when in wired mode, but is not really stable when in wireless mode. The wireless mode works at first, but after disconnect (power off) and reconnect, the wireless just wont reconnect. After digging through all the information from discussion boards and NI provided documentations,the problem still cant be solved.
Just when I was about to give up, I thought of changing the antenna to another type (probably bigger). To my amazement, the wireless suddenly works like charm! (I was running ping from my laptop continuously). From the ping, I found that the time is actually shorter (faster) WITHOUT the antenna! Am I being lucky or is there something wrong with my antenna?
Other than that, I noticed that the data throughput is not similar to the way we calculated for wired devices. Is there any way to reduce the overhead / optimize the network?
