Wanted: Retriggerable Dig. pulse - with modified-delay each trigger!

Hi,
I'm posting this question for "snowman" who originally posted here.

Using LabVIEW and a NI PCI-6259
The question is:  How to use a 40KHz square-wave (TTL) as an input, and generate a "digital" output pulse on each rising edge of the input...
where the output-pulse delay (the time between trigger and output pulse) increases with each trigger.

Any ideas are appreciated!

There's a feature that *may* work -- I've only read references to it, but haven't ever tried it out for myself.  It used to be called "equivalent time sampling" or ETS, but is now apparently referred to as an "auto-increment" property of a counter.

Here's a thread with just a little more info.  Hope it helps!
