What is the resolution for USB-6210 for positive input ranges?

Solved!

Hi,

I'm using USB-6210 for sampling different kinds of sensors and each has its own range of values. I have two questions:

a) What are the fixed ranges in USB-6210 from whcih the most suitable one is automatically chosen according to the user's intput range settings? Are they +/-0.2, +/-1, +/-5 and +/-10 ?

b) I know if I select +/-10 as the range then I will get the resoultion of 20/(2^16) but what if I want the positive range only? So if my sensor gives values ranging from [0,10] and the DAQ would choose the +/-10 range. Then would be possible get a higher resolution than 20/(2^16) and how?

Thanks.

a) Yes, those are the ranges listed in the manual

b) No, a fixed range means a fixed range. You cannot change them.

Hi, I was just revisiting the concept of fixed resolution and I am confused again; if I choose +/-10 V range the resoultion is 16 bit but when I select +-0.2 V then is the resolution still 16 bit. I mean for the four ranges NI has provided each one is sampled with 16 bit resolution?

Thanks.

The number of bits is constant.
