Which DAQmx devices support triggering of digital input tasks?

I am trying to trigger a digital input task; something like:

examples\DAQmx\Digital\Read Values.llb\Read Dig Chan-Int Clk-Pattern Match Start.vi

but it seems that my DAQmx card (PXI-6284) does not support this functionality! Okay. So what does? Is there a name for this feature so that I may keep an eye out for it whilst perusing the NI catalog?

And then a follow-on question: is this workaround (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-9431) the standard way of dealing with this?

Hello kshan,

That is workaround solution, as the link says that functionality is not supported by the E and M series cards, the X series´ card will support that.
