I use a 6501 as part of a testing system. We recently upgraded the computer running the system to Windows 7. Everything works fine while Windows is running, but if the computer shuts down it cannot start again with the 6501 attached. The "Starting Windows" text comes up but before the logo can materialize it starts the Windows startup repair, which runs for 10 minutes and tells me to disconnect and newly attached hardware.
This is a problem because in the event of a power failure on a weekend/holiday the computer should be capable of restarting itself without user interaction. On the old computer this was not an issue, but it was running Windows 2000.

what version of the driver are you using? Have you tried other USB slots/hubs?

Thank you for your reply. I have been using version 9.1.1. I thought about updating but my software is written in C# which references the specific version of the driver so I would have to update all the computers. This is not a real option because some still run on Windows 2000 so 9.1.1 is the latest version I can use.

The reason may be because your hard drive isn't accessed or Windows loaded until after the BIOS is done booting. It could be the computer that had some issue coicidentally at the same time, or there could be an issue with the DAQ devices.
Is there anything connected to the devices that's causing them to source power?
What happens when you plug the devices into another computer that doesn't even have DAQmx installed on it? Whether another computer boots or not will tell us whether the problem lies in your computer or the DAQ devices. If it's the DAQ devices, we'll look at analyzing those in more detail. Please let me know which result you have.
