cDAQ-9178 not found in MAX

I have a cDAQ-9178 that is not showing up in MAX.  It shows up in Windows device manager and looks to be OK there.  I have been using the hardware for about a month and this is the 2nd time it happened.  The first time this happened, I upgraded DAQmx and then it showed up in MAX again.  Has anyone else run into this?  I don't want to have to re-install DAQmx every time this happens.  I currently have DAQmx 9.2 and MAX 4.7.1

Hi jjgors,

The latest version of DAQmx now is the 9.3.0 you can always update to that if you wish to. However, there are two possible reasons why this could be happening.

 1) The NI device loader is not automatically starting and there for you device is not showing up in MAX. For this please refer to:

NI Device Loader (nidevldu) and NI Configuration Manager Services Not Starting

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0819391CA91B3EB38625731D00024649?OpenDocument

2) The second could be a possible MAX database corruption. To correct this follow the directions on this article:

What is the Process For Removing MAX Database Corruption?

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2C7480E856987FFF862573AE005AB0D9

Follow step one first if your device loader is started then you have ran into the second.

Hi JVP,

In the meantime, I had fixed it by doing an DAQmx repair but that is a slow process.  If it happens again, I will try these suggestions and hopefully save myself some time.

Hi jjgors,

I agree that is a slow process. I do believe that the most likely solution will be the the first suggestion that I had made in the eairler post.
