Hi Loay,

The 6009, along with the rest of our DAQ devices, can be used in LabVIEW with the DAQmx driver. There are many shipping examples (Help » Find Example...) with LabVIEW that can assist you in achieving your results. Also, look at the following links for great tutorials about how to use DAQmx in LabVIEW. Please note that the 6009 is a software timed device and therefore deterministic applications are to be avoided. Also, if you are using a DAQmx Base driver(Macintosh and Linux), you will need to make sure you have the current version and also run lsdaq and the firmware updater to ensure proper functionality.

Thanks PBear that was a big help i have one more question. I have begun to use the 6009 as a voltmeter just for testing but it seems to always  be offset by -1.4V. Do i need to calibratrate it or is the device not working properly?

Hi Loay,

Try taking at look at our KnowledgeBases found at ni.com/support. There you will find a great resource for many of our products and also a good amount of information directly dealing with the analog input circuitry found on these B-series devices. For example, KB 3RH97BRM: USB-6008/6009 Analog Input Reads Approximately -1.4V Offset with RSE Connections, and it's related links, should give you good insight about how these devices function.
