can we connect the sensor output directly to DAQ or any interface needed ? if so wat kinda interface needed?

how to scale the sensor output to match the daq input range ?

if the sensor output beyond daq range is supplied. what wil be its effect? pls respond

- It depends on your signal and the sort of device that you have. Does your DAQ provide signal conditioning? Also, what sort of signal are you trying to measure? You need to select DAQ that corresponds to that. Have a look at the following before you get started:

Getting Started with NI-DAQmx: Main Page

And, have a look at Table 1 in the following article to wire your signal right:

Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals

- You will need to use external circuitory to match the daq input range.

- You could damage the device.

If you have additional questions, please post back. And, be sure to give more details about your setup, the hardware and what you are trying to do.

the daq we have is 6023E. we are trying to measure wind speed from a wind mill.. wat circuitry must we use to convert wind speed to a voltage input to the daq.??

and can daq  have only voltage input?

Hi,

do we need to design external circuitry ourselfs. or is it written in datasheets?

Thanks

You have not provided nearly enough information for anyone to provide a reasonable response. Whether or not you need external circuitry depends on the sensor and your DAQ device. I have no idea what datasheet you might be referring to.

i meant, when we will need external circuit. that external circuits will be in datasheets, or we has to design it ourself.

A datasheet for some sensor would probably not have a circuit required to interface to some unknown hardware. Look at your datasheet. If you have a question about some specific sensor, you need to provide that sort of information as well as the DAQ device. That is wy your question is still on the vague side.
