compatibility of PCI-MIO 16xe-50 with new PowerMac G4

We moved our 16xe-50 DAQ board from our old PowerMac G4 (500MHz) to our new G4 (dual 1.25GHz bootable in OS 9). We get a "type 2" error when we try to run NI-DAQ config 6.6.1. After uninstalling and reinstalling NI-DAQ problem persists, but it will run when we remove the board. (board still works in the old machine). Does this look like a compatibility issue with the new G4? We tried installing the board in both the 1st (slot 2) and and last (slot 6) PCI slots with no difference.

The 16XE-50 has been tested to work with most dual processor G4s. Mac does continue to update their systems and we have seen a few revisions that will not work with our DAQ cards. Unfortunately we cannot test every new Mac that comes out. It is possible that your new revision may have conflicts with our cards. It is known that the quicksilver and the digital audio machines will not work. If you have one of these then you might want to continue to use your older G4. To aid in determining the type of G4 you have please reference:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58418

Computers that do have conflicts return the error:

"NIDAQ configuration utility has unexpectedly quit because an error of type 2 occurred"
The file Stdlog NIDAQ 22nd Nov was saved
for this case.

If this is the same error you are encountering then you may have an incompatible G4. One other item to check is that you are actually booting into OS 9 and not running 9 from within 10.

Hope this helps.
