I m chemical student here. And, I am trying on measuring the pressure.
I have a pressure transducer with the specification of 0 to 5 Vdc analog output and 9-28Vdc supply. And, I intend to plug the connector to the NI 9219 (4 analog input) which can be used it. So, there is 6 terminals and i have to choose the Voltage mode (which is terminal 1, 2, 4 and 5 will be used), is that right?
So, there is four wires for my transducer connector:
Red colour: supply (+)
Black: Supply return (-)
White: Output 0 to 5Vdc
Green: Output
Consequently, How to connect these wires to the national instrument?
Looking forward to Hearing from you guys.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Voon

Hey There Voon,
It's always good to put up your sensor model and datasheet, so that we can be sure what we are dealing with.
If you refer to 9219 User Guides (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372407a.pdf, page 13), you should connect HI as positive and LO as negative/ground of your signal. Looking at the same guide, page 11, you should see that HI is pin 4, while LO is pin 5.
I would suggest you from the transducer:
White (pressure transducer) = HI, Pin 4 (9219)
Black (pressure transducer) = Lo, Pin 5 (9219)
Hope it helps.
Sincerely,
Krisna

Hi, Krisna.
So thats means I have to connect the red and the green to the power supply device (0-30Vdc), right?
Anyway, sincerely appreciate for your suggestion and guidance.

Hey Voon,
I think it should be red and black. Can you post the sensor manual? Just to be sure
Sincerely,
Krisna

Hi, Krisna,
This is the file that you need.

Hey Voon,
My previous suggestion were wrong, this is the correct one.
Red (pressure transducer) = + Power Supply
Black (pressure transducer) = - Power Supply
Green (pressure transducer) = HI, Pin 4 (9219)
White (pressure transducer) = Lo, Pin 5 (9219)
Sincerely,
Krisna

Hi krisna,
Sorry. I would like to ask one more question about the connector. I have found that there is one more which is no colour coded wires(no stated in the previous attached file). Is that the one which I should connect to the "GND-ground" on power supply device?
Looking forward to Hearing from you.
Thanks.

Hi Voon,
Are you referring to E and F in the datasheet? N/C is not "no color", but "not connected" as far as I am concern.
Sincerely,
Krisna

Hi krisna,
Thanks for your responce.
It is not referring to E and F. But without connecting the wires, the Labview still give the responce. So, I think it would not be a big deal.
Krisna, Have you ever calibrate the pressure transducer by using Labview? I have the pressure transducer calibration certificate. But I have no idea with the calibration in Labview. Have any guidance or support information?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
