counter fails after long time...

Hello... I´m trying to run enclosed vi with a PCI-MIO 16 E 1 board. The vi runs fine after upgrading to NI-DAQ 7.5. Before upgrading the vi took 100% CPU but is now down to 5%. The progran attempts to measure frequency and some analog parameters from a test machine we have. After several hours of running the program crashes with the error message "Error -200284 occured at DAQmx Read". I believe that the problem is caused by the digital signal I have. The digital signal is more of a pulse emitted by our test machine everytime the analog load signal passes through zero. My question is if I would be better off buying some signal conditioning that converts my analog signal to a true TTL signal (if yes then which ?) or if there is other ways to solve my problem ? (could this even be a faulty card ? ) Any help or pointer is appreciated.. Yours //Mattias (Counter ID DBL 1Chan N samp.vi"

Hello Matte!

Maybe this might help you out with the error message you get:

Error code: - 200284
Description:
Some or all of the samples requested have not yet been acquired.
Possible cause: The sampling rate is set too low or your DAQmx Read VI requires a longer timeout. This timeout error could also happen if a start trigger was never received or a task is configured for external timing and no clock is supplied.
Solutions: To wait for the samples to become available use a longer read timeout or read later in your program. To make the samples available sooner, increase the sample rate that you have specified

Hi,
How do we increase the saming rate?
I am trying to measure the frequency of pulses coming onto my counter 0 of my PCI-6221. I think I am encountering a similar problem as the person who started the thread.

My question is, how do we increase the sampling rate?
(I am using the (shipped) example code "Meas Dig Frequency-Low Freq 1 Ctr.vi)

It returns garbage...

Thanks
