current measure 6008

hello all

i have a pressure transducer to aquire pressure to a USB6008.

The range of the transducer is 4-20mA linear but it floats alot.

Is there anyway to solve this?

Thanks

Tim

How is is the sensor hooked up to the 6008?

(There are better devices to measure a current loop (4-20mA)  )

Hello timoteo,

To measure current the way to do it is to use the shunt resistor as explained here :

Measuring Current Using the Analog Input of a DAQ Board

And you can see this discussion

Hello all,

Yes i know there are much better devices but they cost much more as well...

I use a shunt resistor of 240 Ohm sorry i didnt mencion it before, my problem is the stability of the signal!

I have tried to connect the transducer (Huba Control 691) to a eurotherm with a shunt resistor of 2,49Ohm to a analog input and work very stable that is my confusion. Does it have some kind of filter?

Do i need to use a special filter? i have tried as well change the samples rate and number of samples.

Normal configuration is single channel RSE 1 Sample on demand.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi,

Can you clarify your behaviour or can you attach a screenshot of what you see ? Please take a look at this useful link :

Has anyone measured strain with a USB DAQ device such as the 6008?

Also, there is a developer zone article that you might find it helpful: Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals.
