daq pad 6015

Can thermocouples be connected directly to the daq pad 6015? If so, how is the cold junction temperature compensation done?

Thanks.

Yes, you technically could just hook your thermocouple up to one of your analog inputs and get a reading. This reading would not be very accurate because the 6015 itself does not have internal CJC. To get CJC, you would need to use one of our SCB-68 E-series breakout boxes. This box connects to your DAQ cable and has screw terminals for connecting signals to your DAQ device. The SCB-68 also includes a cold junction compensation temp sensor. You can read more about the SCB-68 and CJC here:

Salvator,
Your answer to the users question didn't make sense.  Yes, there is no CJC on a Daq Pad 6015, and yes technically you can read voltages from a thermocouple without the CJC, but I don't understand how you can connect an SCB-68 to a Daq Pad 6015.  Out of curiosity, how could you do this?
