difference between scb-68 and scc-68

Is the SCC-68 a drop in replacement for the SCB-68? I am trying to track down an analog output problem on a test rack that has recently been updated. The I/O box was one of the things that was changed.

Hi dmourer,

the SCC-68 is an unshielded connection box, while the SCB-68 is a shielded connection box. Hope it helps.

Hi dmourer,

The SCB-68 is a shielded I/O screw terminal connector block for interfacing input and output signals to 68-pins of the DAQ device the SCB-68 is cabled to. Combined with the shielded cables, the SCB-68 provides rugged, very low-noise signal termination. They have silk-screened component locations for easy addition of simple signal conditioning circuitry for your analog input channels.

The SCC-68 is an I/O connector block that can also be easily connected to M Series or E Series DAQ devices. The NI SCC-68 was designed for expandable desktop measurement systems. It features 68 screw terminals for I/O signal connection like the SCB-68, a general breadboard area, and power bus terminals for external power and grounding. However, the SCC-68 also has four SCC slots for integrating input modules that can be used for: thermocouple, strain gage, RTD, frequency input, current input, voltage attenuator, lowpass filter, load cell input, accelerometer, feedthrough, SPDT relay, isolated digital I/O, and isolated voltage input. A complete list of modules is available in the SCC section of National Instruments signal conditioning hardware.

Hope this explanation helps. Regards, Mallori M.
