generate train pulse-cont on RTSI cable

Martin,

It sounds like you are running into this problem because you are in free-run mode, and the camera is not configured for external triggering. Have you tried the 3rd suggestion that I made? I suspect that once you stop sending triggers, you will still continue to get image data until the maximum image size is reached, because your camera is still sending data back (and not waiting for that trigger to send each line). Please try configuring your camera in CCT+ for external triggering, and then run the modified example you have created that uses a trigger for each line. You may also want to increase the timout for your acquisition, depending on the frequency of your trigger.

Hello Michael,
I have tried your suggestion and you were right. After I stopped the generation of the signal a few moments it was still runnig and then occured a timeout error. But when I select exsync, edge-controlled mode or another exsync mode it doesn't do anything and occurs the timeout error. It looks like the generated signal doesn't  reach the camera in this modes.

Best regards Martin

Martin,

Are you setting up your camera in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) to external triggering? I took a look at the camera file for your camera, and it appears that the option is there. It is possible that even though you are setting the camera in CCT+, the setting is being overwritten by the setting in MAX. Your trigger signal clearly works since triggering each buffer works, so this must be an issue with setting the camera correctly. Please verify in MAX that your camera is setup properly, and let me know if that seems to fix the problem.

Hello Michael,
thank you very much for your time and patience.

I am sorry Michael but I can't see any triggering option in MAX but I found the camera files in National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Data and in
Basler L101k-1k.icd a tried to change some parameters include NonContLineEnables to Yes and SynchornizeEnables to Yes... and it still doesn't work.

I aslo tried to find out some more detailed explanation of the properties but I found just few of them in MAX help.
It is strange that in MAX there are only few on the properties to change in contrast to the icd file.

I will show you my options in MAX and the icd file in attachement.

Please do you know which property should control the triggering?

Yours sincerely Martin

Martin,

It appears as though you are using a different camera file than I am. Your camera file was created in 2005, and seems to be missing some of the parameters. Where did you get this camera file? Was it one of the default files that are installed along with IMAQ? Regardless, you can find a more complete camera file here. I have also uploaded the two camera files that I have. Please place these in your camera file directly, and try them out instead.

Hello Michael,
I am most gratefull to you because it works... You were right again.
There was a problem in the camera file. The whole part for Exsync was missing. My camera file was installed with the drivers but L101k-1k.icd file  was incomplete and L101k-2k too. So I examined antoher files and I used L401k.icd file because it was similar and I used the code from this file. Now it works fine... thanks to you.
I was quite upset because my problems was based on incomplete files which where installed from original drivers. But thanks to you it is soluted.
So thank you very much again....

Martin,

I'm really glad to hear you got it working! Which version of the IMAQ driver did you install? I haven't ever seen your particular camera file before, so I'm wondering if maybe it comes from an outdated version of the driver.

Hello Michael,
I'm sorry that I didn't write earlier.

There was a problem that I didn't installed that camera and another software like MAX etc. so I didn't know that the L101k-1k.icd file is not included in the drivers. I am student here on Technical University of Liberec from Czech Republic and I work in our laboratory where it was already installed. My chief told me that this file was requested from Basler some time ago. So it is difficult to say where the mistake has happened with this file. But I can say that I didn't found any help how to write these files and the original file L101k-2k.icd which is included in NI-IMAQ 3.1.3 drivers is incomplete too. Finally I used L401k.icd and it worked.
I know that I would be lost without your help so I thank you again.

Yours sincerely Martin V.
