I have two 6062E cards that work fine, but now that the last laptop I had with a pcmcia slot has died, I'd like to know if I'm now in possession of two rather expensive paper weights.
There are adapters on the market, but it's not clear to me if they would work. Has anyone tried them?
If none do, does NI have any plans of putting together an adapter that is guaranteed to work?

Hi,
Currently there is no planed release of this type of adaptor by NI.
I have never used one of these adaptors so I cannot say for sure if they work or not. All the adaptor is doing is changing the way the device interfaces the computer. So in theory there is no reason why it shouldn't work but, like I said, I do not have an adaptor to try so I cannot guarantee it will.

Such an adaptor would also take a interface that is register/DMA-based (PCMCIA) and try to shim it over one that is message-based (USB).
It might work, but you might also see considerably reduced performance.
