how to generate a signal with usb 6259

hi, i'm a newbie here and a i've some questions for you

i'm trying to generate a voltage signal +/- 10V with my USB6259 which goes to control a DC servo-motor through a servo-amplifier

with labview i used the daq assistant to generate outputs (like explained in the tutorial), and i wired it with a simulate signal block to change frequency and amplitude in the front panel with knob

next step is to connect the USB6259 with the servo-amplifier.. how can i do that? i mean, which pinouts i've to wired? ao0 and aoGND or ao0 and ao1?

(the one selected in the daq assistant is ao0)

forgive me but as i said, i'm newbie

thanx for you're help

Hi chatter,

it seems that you're using the USB-6259 with screw terminal connections as the one at this page: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/model.usb-6259.html

If this is correct you should do the following: check in this manual at page 24 https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/371291g/resource/371291g.pdf for the device pinout that explain which pin corresponds to which channel (AI, AO, DIO, ecc).

You can see that Analog Output 0 channel (AO 0) corresponds to pin 15 while the Analog Output Ground (AO GND), that is common to every analog output channels of the board, has many pins and you can use for example pin 16.

You should connect the + of the amplifier to the AO 0 pin and the - to the AO GND.

Let me know if it helps

Best Regards
