how to get analog output

We are using NI products, NI PCIe 6259 and PCIe 6221, these acquisition cards communicates through BNC 2090A.

Our aim is to get only analog voltage ramp (triangle wave), this ramp amplifies by thorlabs amplifier.

My questions:

1. See the first attachment, can you tel me how to use this window, i mean the meaning of "sample per buffer", "cycles per buffer", what is the relationship between sample per buffer and "desire frequency". In this window we cannot access all the physical channels? is that write?

2.To use all the physical channels we need to use the window in the 2nd attachment? is it correct?

3. We were trying to do some experiment using the window in the 1st attachment file. We are able to get analog voltage, but without understanding the meaning of what i mentioned in the 1st question. Also the analog output voltage is not showing the correct voltage and  we are unable to fix it on our own, your help may be appreciated, because by default it shows the analog output voltage as 1 (see attachment 3). I tried many times putting 0 and updated it, but i cant put it 0 as i wish. We need to get rid by showing default 1 analog output. If i put this 0 then it works better.

Kindly help us to proceed further.

Regards

Immanuel

Hi immanuel,

continuous generation of voltage waveform uses a buffer to save the samples to generate.

The number of sample per buffer is the dimension of this buffer. The cycles per buffer indicate how many waveform are memorized in the buffer.

for example if you choise 5 waveform in a 250 sample buffer, every waveform is composed by 50 samples.

The desired frequency is the frequency of the waveform that you can measure in the output.

In the previus example, if you want a frequency of 100Hz the PCI card generate a 50 * 100 = 5000 sample/sec.

The example you have choised use only 1 phycal channel. You have to modify these example or create one proper task in MAX to use multiple physical channels.

Sorry but I don't understand the last question. Plese can you repeat it in other words?

Cheers
