how to test and connect speed encoder (1024ppr) to scb-68 with pci-6024e

I want to measure rpm of motor using counter i/o port. i have already blocked 16 input channels of SCB-68 connector to aquired voltage signals. now where to connect signals comming from speed encoder.

I am using Matlab DAQ toolbox for aquisition and analysis the signal directly (not using labview). how to include in program?

Please give me link to have some NI-DAQ and Matlab tutorial.

Hello,

For this you would need to make connections to the counter inputs of your board. However, only analog input, analog output, digital input, and digital ouptut operations are currently supported with the Data Acquisition Toolbox in MATLAB; counters are not supported. Please refer to The MathWorks' web site for the most up-to-date information and product specifications.

However, counter operations are supported in a wide variety of other programming environments such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio, to name a few. Please refer to the NI-DAQ Readme file for a full list of supported programming languages for your version of NI-DAQ.

Hope this helps,
