input analog frequency

Hello every one

I have some confusion about how simulated devices ( e.g. PCI 6255 provided in NIDAQ861 software)  generates analog input channel voltage signals? Like if i have a real PCI 6255 and i connect its any analog input single channel to a function generator generating 1 KHz sine wave. I will set sampling rate e.g. 4 Ksamples/s  and device will sample 1 KHz input sine wave at sampling rate of 4 Ksamples/s.

Kindly tell me what analog input channel frequency (like 1 KHz as mentioned above)  these simulated devices assume which they then sample at the sampling rate set by user?

The simulated input is a 1Khz sine wave with 3% of full scale-noise (per DAQmx help). With multiple channels, data for each channel is offset 5 degrees in time (again per the help).
