location of ADC

Hi Guys!

I would like to ask an opinion and advise about the ADC.

I'm would like to know where is the best location to put the ADC circuit board for monitoring system.

At the remote location or that the control room.

Let me make more elaboration on this, I'm going to develop a monitoring system. The measurement is going from the transducer at the remote area.
Then the signal will transmit wirelessly through the Wi-Fi. However, I plan to used a ADC module from PICO technology, usb type and it required a PC for software installation and power over the usb to turn on the device.

Can somebody do guide me on this or any suggestion for the ADC is appreciate.

By the way I'm plan to used 8 or 12 bit ADC.

Thanks you

Peace,
Hussin

Hi Hussin,

Thank you for your post.  It seems like a very interesting application.  I was wondering, please would it be possible to provide more information about the ADC module from PICO technology and what type of software you are using.  Also, any further information about the set up and the application would also be very helpful.

Thanks very much.

Hi Prashant,

Here, I attached you my system topology and the user guide of pico technology. I plan to use EL040 as my transducer converter and EL005 as my data logger.
However, my concern is will this data logger  able to conncet with wi-fi device. At the receiving end I will used LabView 8.0 as my monitoring platform.

Hope to get an advise or your opinion on this application.

Hi Hussin,

I hope you are well.  Thank you for the information.  I am very sorry but because you are using hardware that is not produced by NI I do not have the information to advise you whether your data logger will be able to connect with your wi-fi device.  My advice would be to contact the device manufactures for further information about this as they will, most likely, be the best people to ask.  I am sorry I could not be more help in this area.

I was, however, wondering if you could let me know what communication protocol you are using as I may be able to offer more help with regards to you LabVIEW application.

Thanks very much.
