loss of communication

I am running max ver 2.2.0.3010 and VI logger 1.1 on a win2k machine. If the system is running everything is fine. If I leave the system not running but powered after a short time I lose contact with one of daq boards. It is the one with pci-6023E is connected to. If I tell the system that that module is not connected to the 6023 then, reconnected (in software) the system recovers normally. Any ideas?

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but it might have something to do with what you're seeing.

When you leave the machine running, does the computer go into "standby" mode? If so, this may be causing the problem. When a computer enters standby mode, power likely gets cut from the PCI bus, and will reset the DAQ board. Since NI-DAQ doesn't know the device has been reset, that will cause problems.

If your computer is configured to enter standby mode, I would suggest to reconfigure your computer to never enter standby mode.

I hope this helps.

I am 99% sure that standby mode is turned off. The only thing of that type I have is that it will turn off the monitor after 30 minutes. I will check for standby mode again to make sure.

Thanks for the suggestion.
