measuring time in a waveform

I need measure the time between two slopes in a digital waveform.I have a PCI-E-16. I implemented a VI based in a multiple poin adquisition and, by means of number of samples of adquisition and scan rate, the VI calculates the time.
My question is if this method is independent of PC clock and, therefor there is no influence in using a PC or other.I suppose that the clock that is used in the scan rate is a daq internal clock. Is it ok?.

That is correct. If you specify a scan rate for your data acquisition, this rate comes from the clock on the board and is independent of the PC. The accuracy of the onboard clock is given in the specifications of the board.
