nidaqbase 64bit linux

I'm trying to use the USB-6009 multifunction DAQ for a project that requires a computer running a 64bit linux kernel.  I am using openSUSE 10.3 and while the install script works fine, any binaries fail with an error, stating libnipalu.so failed to initialize.  A forum search showed others having trouble with physical memory over 4GB, but that isn't a problem here - I tried mem=2048M on bootup and got the same error.  I am guessing that this error results from trying to run the binary in a 64 bit environment.  Is there any way I can recompile the driver or run a 32bit runtime enviro within 64bit linux to get the drivers to work?  Will I be able to use the DAQ from a 64bit binary?  I appreciate any help very much.

Currently NI-DAQmx Base does not support 64-bit kernels.  This may be something we support in the future, but I have no idea when that might be.  Is there a reason you need to use 64-bit Linux?
