Hello,
I have a position sensor
http://www.elgo.de/pdf/manual/sensors/LMIX1-000-E_06-09.pdf which has output signals A, B and Z. In my case, the signal is 10...30 V HTL. (page 10 of PDF). Can anyone tell me what does this mean?
I want to make position measurement using this encoder. which NI card would be suitable?
thanks in advance.
regards,
Swap

Hi Swap
I would say there are three different sensors (see chapter 10). Depending on which sensor you have the output signal is changing.
As you are saying you have a Z channel I guess you use the sensor "order index 00" which means you have to power the sensor with
a 10 - 30V voltage. The output should be for this sensor on the same voltage level as you power the sensor.
Sensor Power 24V => should result in a signal voltage of 24V for the channels A, B and Z.
To be 100% sure if that is right please contact the sensor vendor.
For deciding which NI card is the best for you system, please contact your local National Instruments branch. They will show you the different
options you have. There are several factors which has to be considered when you choose a card.
If you need help to find you local contact please let me know.
