I'm trying to measure a quadrature output with a PXI-6602. My problem is the Z pulse is not fixed with the phase of A/B. Meaning it could happen at any time during the 4 different phases. I've seen others with similar issues but not any solutions. Is there any type of work around for this yet?
Why on earth would NI not give some flexibility in this regard? Very restraining to have it tied to only one phase.
Thanks.

If your Z pulse is not fixed to the A/B Phase, you are in trouble....
Selfmade and/or misadjusted Z-pulse/encoder??
All industrial encoders with Z output I have worked with had a very well defined correlation. Maybe 10+ different types, however there had been a situation where I used a speed encoder on a motor shaft and added a 'zero' somewhere. Needed an extra comparator and fine adjustments and stiff mechanics to get useful slopes. Acceptable for prototyping or proof of concept, but if you need reliable results go for a encoder with a build in Z output or live with +/- x digits.
