unable to build installer in LV 8

Hi Halo,

If you dont include any drivers to install in the installer, then your installer build is fine? It looks like you may be facing the same issue as Oliver66 and if you are, please look at Kennon's responce few posts up which answers why you are facing this issue and the workaround to it. If you think you are facing a different issue then please attach screenshots of exactly what you see in the build process and we can look at it further. Thanks and have a great day!

Regards,
Prashanth

I have just enountered the same issue, with a different missing file. When creating the installer (in LabVIEW 8.5 pro on WinXP) for an application I got a build error...

Possible reasons - The following file(s) are not on the system, <not a file>, <not a file>.

No error number was given, the full list/file path was different. See the attached screenshot of the build error message.

Browsing the forum I found cking's solution on page 2 of this thread, tried it and it worked for me.

Full marks and 5 stars to cking - thanks for sharing.

Regards,

Bandit.

I have the same problem. I can build the application but I can't build the installer. This problem started after making some changes to a project which I have build many installers for without any problem, before. I do not know how to solve these build errors. I checked the solutions listed in this thread but they don't seem to help me. I did change the ini file as was mentioned and I made a .log file of the build and a screendump of the build errors. I changed the extension of the .log file to .txt to be able to attach it. Can anyone help me out?

I had the same problem and, in fact, I don't know why, but this is a problem with labview runtime engine. In my case, I developed a complement software and I didn't need to install labview runtime, so I take it off from installer project and add just my main VI. And it works!
